WE HAVE COME TO AN END??

 Ahoy, Me Hearties! 


Ahoy, mateys! Before I embarked on this course, I was optimistic about bringing technology into English language teaching (ELT). I saw its potential, but I wasn't sure how it would actually work in the classroom. Well, let me tell you, my thoughts have evolved big time! Now, I'm all in, ready to embrace tech to boost learning outcomes.


Throughout the course, I dove deep into the tech world through various tasks. Blogging was a fantastic way to reflect on my journey, helping me put my thoughts and observations into words. Creating infographics was a creative challenge that taught me how to present complex info visually, making it easier for students to grasp. Podcasts opened up the world of audio content creation, showing me the importance of listening skills in language learning. The "Story with a Twist" task unleashed my creativity and narrative skills, proving that storytelling can be a powerful teaching tool. Collaborative writing projects highlighted the importance of teamwork and peer feedback, essential elements in language learning. And let's not forget the AI tools, which showcased the cutting-edge potential of technology in providing personalized feedback and facilitating self-paced learning.


Among these adventures, the "Story with a Twist" and the AI projects were my absolute favorites. The storytelling task was a blast because it combined creativity with linguistic skills, allowing me to explore different narrative techniques and engage with the material in a deeply personal way. The AI task was equally fascinating, as it opened my eyes to the vast possibilities of personalized learning and instant feedback, making language learning more efficient and tailored to individual needs.


On the flip side, the task I enjoyed the least was creating infographics. While I appreciated the challenge, it didn't captivate me as much as the more interactive and narrative-driven tasks. Designing and ensuring clarity in a visual format was demanding, but it did teach me valuable skills in presenting information.


To improve the course, I'd suggest adding more interactive and hands-on activities that mimic real classroom scenarios. Live demonstrations of tech tools in action and opportunities for peer teaching sessions could enhance our practical understanding. Plus, a dedicated forum for sharing resources and experiences with tech in ELT could foster a collaborative learning community.


In conclusion, this course has completely transformed my perspective on tech integration in ELT. It's equipped me with practical skills and insights, making me more confident in leveraging technology to create dynamic and effective learning environments. I can't wait to apply these tools and techniques in my future teaching practice. Fair winds, everyone!

Corpus-Based Teaching Material (DO OR MAKE!!!!)

  Ahoy, Me Hearties!  Let me tell you about a task we recently tackled that was as exciting as it was challenging. My crew of four; Mustafa , Samet , Abdülhamid , and of course me; created a corpus-based teaching material for 9th graders, all about the tricky duo: do vs. make. To make it even better, we built a detailed lesson plan based on the ASSURE model using our material. It was an adventure packed with learning, creativity, and a few bumps along the way. So, what’s inside this treasure chest of a teaching material? It’s a four-part journey:  Test Your Knowledge: A quick warm-up to check what students already know. Improve Your Knowledge with Corpus: Students dive into real-life language examples from a corpus to spot patterns.
